Yet I still believe Chernobylite evokes the beauty of an abandoned wasteland that ...

The Callisto Protocol - the space survival horror that may define the genre

Image
The Callisto Protocol features a combat system that is heavily focused on melee attack and avoidance but also being vigilant about the health and resources, so if you take out an adversary using a melee combination and open vulnerable points where you can hit for extra damage, you'll be just fine. Maybe The Callisto Protocol is not perfect but it is the kind of experience that will make you jump on the PS5 horror games train. It is an immersive and unforgettable adventure. Immersion is, by definition, an experience you must go through for yourself. Nostalgia is also a feeling that you may have if you played Dead Space. A genuine sense of horror could improve the overall experience of this survival-action adventure, however, The Callisto Protocol rather leans too much into ridiculous high-octane entertainment, reducing the excitement and destroying the story's core game. Enemies can lose their limbs during combat or be decapitated. wrench enemies into dangerous components of ...

The Callisto Protocol - a modern sci-fi survival horror

Image
The Callisto Protocol is a solid third-person survival horror game with amounts of dismemberment that may make your stomach turn with cool sci-fi-themed settings as well as weapons that are completely out of the ordinary. The Callisto Protocol is a game that improves all aspects of the Dead Space while also taking the full benefit of today's gaming equipment. The beginnings of the Callisto Protocol began because of the formation of Striking Distance as a studio in PUBG Corporation (now PUBG Studios) in June 2019, helmed by Glen Schofield, who had previously created with Glen Schofield the Dead Space series at Visceral Games. The studio was founded to extend the PUBG: Battlegrounds universe by making a story-driven game. Fighting  biophages  may feel incredibly weighty, with satisfying swings smashing through bones and cutting off limbs. It is even better once the stun baton has received some upgrades and the fact that the players will always be chasing the enemy to knock them...

Best survival horror games - new and old Resident Evil games

Image
Resident Evil games When it comes to survival horror video games, there are a lot of games that are very good and you may remember. But I think there is no one horror fan to not appreciate the games of Resident Evil franchise. These are some of the classic games for a few generations and I would like to present you two games to sustain this idea: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil 2 is an old game, released in 1998 for PlayStation 1. It is probably the best horror game of that period and it won several game awards and revolutionized the genre. In 2019 we were lucky to receive a remake of the game. I will say a few words about it bellow. Resident Evil Village is the latest game of the franchise, recently released, a game made for the latest game consoles' specifications. It is one of the most awaited games of the year. It is the second game that I would like to say a few thoughts. Resident Evil Village has also another game packed together: The Mercenaries. I...

Little Hope is a genuinely great time horror game

Image
Little Hope is the second game of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It is a survival horror game, probably one of the best PS5 horror games every released, certainly the best so far in the franchise's history. It is a strange game with a tense atmosphere, probably a delight for horror game fans. It contains more symbolism than Man of Medan, the first game of the Anthology. It is not quite obvious the symbolism, but it is more effective and has a deeper emotional impact. It is very good how everything comes together in this game. Little Hope has amazing graphics and story Little Hope is a pretty great game to play and will make a lot of people happy as it is a game meant for anybody, not only the fans of the genre. The story will get anyone hooked because it's pretty intriguing. Also the graphics and story are at the same level and work very good together. Jump-scares may work in a first play-through, but overtime they may become predictable and repetitive. The developers seems to h...

The Evil Within 2 - classic survival-horror gameplay

Image
Sebastian Castellanos is back in The Evil Within 2 . If you're at all interested in his and The Evil Within 2's narrative, I highly recommend you play the game. It is tense and captivating and you will be impressed by various aspects of the story, graphics, and narrative. It is rewarding to play the game before watching the movie. In fact, it is better to play it even before you read anything about the story. This way you will appreciate the game for what it is, without comparisons and bias. I would recommend you to buy The Evil Within 2 and give it a try. Many characters return from the previous game and the overall assumption will make much more sense if you are familiar with the first The Evil Within game's narrative. The world formed from STEM is unsettling, menacing, and consuming. It has to be defeated. The expectation for what's about each corner (and you will be sometimes scared) is sufficient to propel you ahead despite the fear of what evils lurk in the shado...
