A Plague Tale Innocence - an ambitious adventure game

Image
A Plague: Tale Innocence succeeds in telling the heartfelt survival story of two orphans, Amicia and Hugo. It's a fine stealth action-adventure, with fine characters and play, and oceans of rats which add a fine survival horror vibe to it. Definitely a fun title, not just a major recommendation (a game which won several awards). Despite being an adventure videogame, or at least this was in the mind of the authors, A Plague Tale is a lot more ambitious than that, as it sometimes leans heavily into stealth and actions. I will easily place this title among the best Xbox Series adventure games . A Plague Tale starts off strong with a completely heartrending intro into the linear stealth action-adventure that sees that the elephants sneak their way through the family estate whilst inquisition soldiers make short work of the loved ones. This is one of those Xbox Series X/S games that you will probably play until end. Ultimately, it's not sufficient to dampen what A Plague Tale sets...

Ghost Recon Wildlands: A Top Open-World Shooter

Image
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands Your enjoyment of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is going to depend heavily on how you respond to the console game's basic changes. On the one hand, the move to an open-world makes it seem less like a traditional Ghost Recon name, and the addition of a radio station that seems like it belongs in Saints Row or Grand Theft Auto doesn't convert those who want that timeless sense. Its the familiar sense we have about Ghost Recon franchise. In the same time, on the other hand, that same open-world setting together with the more traditional gunplay mechanics performs well, there is a lot to do at any time, and it has loads of fun either playing solo or with other people. Wildlands is a great console game that is worth playing, so long as you aren't averse to change. Otherwise you will probably complain a lot. It's really a little hard to feel that Ubisoft plans to enlarge Ghost Recon Wildlands further through post-launch cont...

Ghost Recon vs Wildlands

Image
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint Ghost Recon Breakpoint is functioning as intended and without being too good, it is not too bad either. This is one of many continuously evolving shooter games on the industry and we expect its debut on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Hopefully with major improvements, to become one of the best PS5 shooting games we know. Things like the Sniper Rifles will need to be better balanced for multiplayer and upcoming DLC will probably add to the great story as players grind out their Year One Pass. After many hours with Breakpoint, I can safely say I am looking forward to what is coming next. Developer Ubisoft Paris and writer Ubisoft return to put in a new chapter into a franchise spanning almost 20 decades, and also to further the legacy of the amazing Tom Clancy. This time, players are taken to the remote surroundings of Auroa, a former cold war military setup currently under the management of a personal robotics company called Skell Technology. ...

Best action-adventure video games of the year

Image
The year just ended and we want to put together a top of the best action-adventure video games of the year. It is somewhat difficult as at the end of the year we put our hands on the new next-gen consoles and some games come out for them. However, most of the action-adventure games are PS4 and Xbox One, meaning they are not enhanced for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (otherwise everybody knows that you can play PS4 games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One games on Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S consoles. So this is not a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S top, but rather a non-specific best of the action-adventure games. Assassins Creed Valhalla Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the latest installment in the franchise, a game that will bring joy to the fans of the series. In Assassin's Creed Valhalla you'll play as hero Eivor - female or male, your choice - and take Vikings and your longships across the sea to England, where you share your ax skills with the natives and'll build settlements. T...

Watch Dogs Legion - fight back the power

Image
Watch Dogs Legion The idea seems sound--instead of playing a traditional protagonist, you recruit a group of heroes out of randomly created, ordinary citizens of London. We've cycled through more characters than we could count in Watch Dogs: Legion, and could not tell you the names, or personal details and customs, of any of them. Watch Dogs: Legion instructs you to recruit the people you brush shoulders with based on their capabilities. There's no 1 player personality" as such in Watch Dogs: Legion. With Watch Dogs: Legion, the key is in the name: you're leading a literal legion in the streets of London against a technical militia, using anyone and everyone to fight back. Like the two games before it, Watch Dogs Legion is a middling experience. Like San Francisco in Watch Dogs 2, Legion's London is a wonderful place to spend time. In Watch Dogs Legion, hacker group DedSec has been framed for a series of terrorist bombings in London, and its members are dead, missi...

FIFA 21 Review: A Rough Diamond

Image
FIFA 21 gameplay FIFA 21 brings welcome attributes to every console game mode (even Career Mode) while creating smart tweaks to the on-pitch gameplay. While ball movement occasionally feels upsettingly artificial--more on the series' wayward physics shortly--there's no denying FIFA 21 plays a better console game of football than last year's entry. FIFA 21 is a great soccer experience for people who don't play these types of games frequently, but the restricted mode selection and the general feel of this console game will leave a lot to be desired for yearly fans. I'm having fun with FIFA 21. EA has made significant improvements to how the game plays on the pitch, additional welcome quality of life tweaks, and given Career Mode - much maligned in last year's console game - a Soccer Manager-inspired makeover. Once you do, you will appreciate the changes EA made. FIFA 21 may not contain any brand new modes or major new features, but by providing substantial changes...

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War vs Black Ops 4

Image
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War  Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War brings the Black Ops sub-series back to its origins. When you playing it, you discover that it really managed to delivering an explosive campaign, fast-paced multiplayer, and a compelling Zombies experience. It is the latest video game from Activision, a shooting game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software. The game can be played on the new generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as the PS4 and Xbox One. This is a game that is set in the 80s, and we delve ourselves in the atmosphere of the cold war ear. Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the first Call of Duty title to support cross-gen crossplay. Even during a pandemic and a shortened development cycle, players get all the Black Ops goodness we could expect from a Treyarch Call of Duty. There is a paranoid-filled effort with iconic Black Ops characters, fast-paced multiplayer, and the return of the undead. It is a game that is familiar to all shooti...

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Review - Insanely fun

Image
There's a level in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (which is out now on PS4 and Xbox One) that almost broke my will to go on. It was Cortex Castle, the next-to-last level, which should give you an indication of how far this console game pushed me to the brink. If you are the type of person who wants something relaxing to play after work, or favors the storyline experience within the gameplay experience, this game is a hard sell. But I say that ironically, as a gamer who typically fits into both of those categories, I stuck it out and endured countless losses to my eventual satisfaction. When speaking about Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time we've gotta begin with what jumps right off the screen and hits you : it's visuals. Crash Bandicoot was one of those first icons of the 3D era of gaming. Made famous by a series of hits for the PlayStation One, he went dormant as platforming titles dropped off in popularity. But with a recent resurgence coming together with t...

3 New Games You Should Play

Image
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Crash Bandicoot 4 retains iconic Crash elements like wumpa collection, zany (often annoying) enemies and key mini-levels to research, while presenting a challenge that will either have you giggling in glee or prepared to throw your controller through your screen. On top of these traditional elements, we also have a range of new features which add a modernity to the gameplay, such as rail-grinding, controlled camera freedom, Quantum masks that grant unique skills, and the opportunity to play as other characters. It's a wonderful change from just running, jumping and turning. Mastering timing has always been a part of the Crash formula, but these new mechanisms add an additional layer to the mix, which makes these sequences a lot more complex. They also add a puzzle-like quality to the standard platforming Crash has ever been about. I love this game and I hope to see it on the new generation consoles - PS5 and Xbox Series X. I'm sure you wi...

Horizon Zero Dawn: a masterpiece action-RPG PS4-exclusive

Image
Horizon Zero Dawn can be the ARPG game of the year. We're talking about an action RPG in an open setting that was created by Guerrilla Games and published on the PlayStation 4 - it is a PS4 exclusive, and definitely one of the best ps4 games in its category. You'll play as Aloy, a tribal woman understanding how to endure in an open-world after that suffered the apocalypse and it is now absorbed by robots. It is sometimes a gripping story and it offers harrowing combat encounters, but the game's strong point and where it finds life is its peerless graphic performance. Enriched by having  a combat that is deep and captivating, adding stunning visuals, Guerrilla Games has already raised the bar with Horizon: Zero Dawn . Guerrilla Games designers are making certain that their game seems unique by comparison, and this due to a vibrant world bursting with stunning detail, challenging robotic enemies, and a tale that explores an uncivilized medium in a way that is fresh and innov...

3 Top Games for Children

Image
Spyro Reignited Trilogy Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a remaster of the first Spyro trilogy made by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Every game is a 3D platformer featuring the titular protagonist, a juvenile purple dragon named Spyro, as he attempts to restore peace in a pair of worlds unique to each videogame by vanquishing enemies. Spyro's sidekick, a dragonfly called Sparx, acts as his health, defending him from a restricted number of enemy attacks. Moreover, the games feature a number of collectibles which has to be acquired to make progress, like gems, which also act as currency, and dragon eggs. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a video game to be considered as a reworking of the original console games. The work done by the development group is commendable, but they not only recreated the stories of the American team with a new appearance, but they also enriched them in particulars and in the drama. Ins...

Two amazing acton-RPG games you should play

Image
We all love action role-playing video games, what action-RPG games do you recommend? I would like to present you two amazing action-RPG video games that every gamer should play. Both have almost perfect ratings, are top on gameplay, graphics, user experience, and more. Without further ado, here they are. Horizon Zero Dawn Horizon Zero Dawn is an action-RPG video game from Guerrilla Games, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4 in 2017 (with a PC edition in 2020). The world is overrun by machines and players have to fight them. Heading out to the world of "Horizon Zero Dawn" to take down these massive machines is an exhilarating feeling, which combines well with a narrative that slowly unfurls and engages its audience. This game is above all else that blends tried-and-tested fantasy tropes that are tribal to a humanistic and particularly poignant brand. On the surface, Horizon seems like a jumble of influences but, just like the murderous machina wa...
