Best survival horror games - new and old Resident Evil games

Resident Evil games

When it comes to survival horror video games, there are a lot of games that are very good and you may remember. But I think there is no one horror fan to not appreciate the games of Resident Evil franchise. These are some of the classic games for a few generations and I would like to present you two games to sustain this idea: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 2 is an old game, released in 1998 for PlayStation 1. It is probably the best horror game of that period and it won several game awards and revolutionized the genre. In 2019 we were lucky to receive a remake of the game. I will say a few words about it bellow.

Resident Evil Village is the latest game of the franchise, recently released, a game made for the latest game consoles' specifications. It is one of the most awaited games of the year. It is the second game that I would like to say a few thoughts. Resident Evil Village has also another game packed together: The Mercenaries. It is a very good game in its own, if you like PS5 shooting games, but it will not be into my attention.

Resident Evil 2 - tense exploration and great action

In Resident Evil 2 you will discover all the good traits of the RE franchise - tense exploration, puzzles, and action. Developers brought this classic to the modern requirements and I have to say it is a very good remake. I am a person who likes remakes, because I get to enjoy a classic - usually a game that I love and played at its time - at a later moment in life, probably on new game systems. It will bring back good memories, and it is hard not to get nostalgic. In general, I believe remakes are great and useful - new generation of players get in touch with something good from the past and experience greatness! Of course, a requirement will be the original game to be good in the first place. Then, you have to trust developers they make good decisions and come back with a great remake.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 presents amazing survival horror combat. The graphics are juicier than ever with zombies inspired by Tarman from Return of the Living Dead. I like how zombies lurch around and react when you drop specific chunks of their heads and palms. It is all due to the satisfyingly thorough dismemberment system that RE2 employs. You do not always know what makes Resident Evil great. In my opinion, Resident Evil 2 is one of the best PS5 horror games ever. Strangely, some never completely recognized its value. You will still find people complaining and talking bad things about the game. I guess you will find people believe anything, but rest assured Resident Evil 2 is genius!

Resident Evil Village - amazing gameplay and story

Resident Evil Village takes the series to new heights. It is a game that is balancing the action gameplay you find on Resident Evil 4 with all the deeper storyline approach of Resident Evil 7. Every detail is well thought and executed. From brilliant use of audio on PS5, to the range of unforgettable characters. RE Village is probably the very best modern Resi entry. In addition, it has a lot of content and you will have to play a game that is long and rewarding. It pays off to have awesome gameplay and story as you will never get bored. A lot of survival terror beats make it even more appealing. Fans of combat will enjoy the pieces of the game focused on the action.

Resident Evil Village

Despite the completely different feel of the game, much more ramped upward combat, and despite the more lavish enemies we have seen up to now, RE Village is going forward with the franchise. RE Village is one of the best Xbox Series X/S horror games and you should play this game if you are a fan of the franchise or the genre. The graphics are amazing, the story is good. When you are taking a look at this game for the very first time and you see the castle in its snow-covered Gothic beauty, you will be impressed. Indeed, it is quite the sight and viewing it on the new generation of consoles is simply stunning. It bodes well for all those surprises that are yet to come hidden in the mountains.
