Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – A Tale of Extraordinary Disorder and Chaos

Image
When I launched the game Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, I didn’t simply start a session. I put myself in the scuffed boots of Goro Majima, who is as much a character as he is a force of nature. It’s never about undertaking dungeons or grinding for loot; here, selling yourself to a life that is louder, wilder, and certainly more unhinged than yours is the goal. It's about setting sail into the seas with a sword in one hand and a crew who’d rather stab you in the back than offer a sip of their rum. And oh, the stories that are told, once you give freedom to a madman like Majima. This isn’t just something you get if you occasionally buy Xbox games ; it is an epilogue meant to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It is complete chaos that tosses away everything Including the series premise and tosses it over the edge. He isn’t a simply a pirate. Because Majima is a human hurricane and the Goromaru, his ship, is his weapon of mass destruction...

Hot Wheels Unleashed: Unleashing Childhood Dreams

Image
As I opened Hot Wheels Unleashed for the first time, a strong sense of deja vu quickly came over me. Not just another racing game--this was like going back in time; transporting me back to a world filled with plastic tracks and die-cast cars that defined my childhood in London. Something about those little cars made time stand still so when I found myself gripping my controller in anticipation of racing through loops and jumps defying gravity I couldn't help but smile; not only was this not about speed but rediscovering an aspect of myself I thought long gone back into hiding again! Speed, Fun, Simple Controls,... Simple Exhilarating Hot Wheels Unleashed is, at its core, a racing game designed to celebrate the pure, unadulterated pleasure of competition. Each turn in this exhilarating racing adventure propels players closer and closer towards speed; each twist and turn pushing players onwa...

Yet I still believe Chernobylite evokes the beauty of an abandoned wasteland that ...
