Alone in the Dark: Psychological Concepts at Play

Image
Alone in the Dark brings this age-old horror trope of human control being lost over supernatural forces they attempt to manipulate into a modern context. Instead of just scaring away players with demons swarming through an old mansion's hallways and rooms, these demons represent humanity's hubris in attempting to play god and controlling forces they don't understand fully enough; acting as warning about seeking knowledge beyond one's grasp - an idea reinforced by haunted mansion filled with cursed artifacts and ancient books which is testament to this message of caution: as humans' dark desires come back and haunt them both literally and metaphorically! Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood? Player avatar Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood finds themselves immersed in an environment in which reality seems tenuous; strange occurrences, haunting visions, and an oppressive sense of doom fill every room of Derceto Mansion; similar disorientations mirror how its characters expe...

The Quarry - simply the best interactive horror game you can play

Its breakout smashes Until Dawn in 2015 introduced gamers to the captivating mix of cinematic storytelling and choice-driven gameplay, as well as refreshing horror. Little Hope is a genuinely great time horror game

Image
Little Hope is the second game of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It is a survival horror game, probably one of the best PS5 horror games every released, certainly the best so far in the franchise's history. It is a strange game with a tense atmosphere, probably a delight for horror game fans. It contains more symbolism than Man of Medan, the first game of the Anthology. It is not quite obvious the symbolism, but it is more effective and has a deeper emotional impact. It is very good how everything comes together in this game. Little Hope has amazing graphics and story Little Hope is a pretty great game to play and will make a lot of people happy as it is a game meant for anybody, not only the fans of the genre. The story will get anyone hooked because it's pretty intriguing. Also the graphics and story are at the same level and work very good together. Jump-scares may work in a first play-through, but overtime they may become predictable and repetitive. The developers seems to h...

The Evil Within 2 - classic survival-horror gameplay

Image
Sebastian Castellanos is back in The Evil Within 2 . If you're at all interested in his and The Evil Within 2's narrative, I highly recommend you play the game. It is tense and captivating and you will be impressed by various aspects of the story, graphics, and narrative. It is rewarding to play the game before watching the movie. In fact, it is better to play it even before you read anything about the story. This way you will appreciate the game for what it is, without comparisons and bias. I would recommend you to buy The Evil Within 2 and give it a try. Many characters return from the previous game and the overall assumption will make much more sense if you are familiar with the first The Evil Within game's narrative. The world formed from STEM is unsettling, menacing, and consuming. It has to be defeated. The expectation for what's about each corner (and you will be sometimes scared) is sufficient to propel you ahead despite the fear of what evils lurk in the shado...
