Top 10 Best Action-Adventure Games in 2020

What is the best action adventure games in 2020?

The best action-adventure games in 2020 are Resident Evil 3 Remastered, Red Dead Redemption 2, Just Cause 4, Assassin's Creed Origins, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Days Gone, GreedFall, Nioh 2, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. There are a few other titles that may be considered for the positions. You may not agree with me, but you will certainly discover something good to play this weekend. If you like action-adventure games, please let us know your favorites.

Resident Evil 3 Remastered

It was a no-brainer that a Resident Evil 3 remake would follow in its footsteps, and boy, what a remake it is. From it's incredible visuals to the excellent action-horror gameplay, the Resident Evil 3 remake succeeds in almost every aspect. The series' trademark slow-burn tension and gentle puzzling are replaced here by all-out action that feels far too safe and linear. More action, less puzzles, results in a more fluid game. It is faithful to the original 1999 PSX video game, with updated gameplay and graphics, but Capcom has been able to deepen its storyline, characters and connections. On the downside, it can be finished by you under 5 hours. Resident Evil 3 is set during the autumn of Raccoon City, where Jill Valentine is chased around by the clomping great mutated Nemesis. The remake of Resident Evil 3follows Jill Valentine as the poor capitalist corporation (Nemesis) releases a virus in Raccoon City that turns people into zombies and creates a big, scary monster. As the 1999 first was a Resident Evil video game that arguably helped pivot the franchise towards the iconic fourth installment, this 2020 re-imagining feels like last year's video game in many ways, only sped up and thirstier for zombie blood. It treads the line between activity and tension impressively, and his legacy is cemented by Nemesis as one of the sequence' most enduring creatures. If you are stuck searching for someplace to escape and inside, you will find Raccoon City.

Red Dead Redemption 2

A suitably epic and tale in its own right, the storytelling in Red Dead Redemption 2's strength lies in its quieter moments and in the time it willingly takes to build its own world. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be looked upon as a another title that pushed what can be done in an open world, and be marked as one the developer's most crowning achievements in their long history making video console games. I can only say that Rockstar has done it again. Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed of the reference titles of its genre, becoming a masterpiece of video games. A name that marks a before and after in how the effort and dedication of a studio have the ability to bring a generation of consoles to a new excellence is reserved for a select few. If you like to get lost in a memorable world, this title is a must on your bookshelf. Red Dead Redemption 2 has three different types of score: narrative, which is heard during the missions in the game's story; interactive, when the player is roaming the open world or in multiplayer; and environmental, which includes campfire singing songs or a character playing music in the world.

Just Cause 4

Just Cause 4 is an improvement as compared with the other games of the series. It doesn't really reach the heights of the second, which felt like the summit of the franchise at the time, and it has remained so to this day, but it is very close. It performs a lot better, at the expense of the graphics. The gunplay and action are better now than before though, but something feels lost in the overall experience. Taking more of a narrative approach while not offering all that much narrative but definitely adding a little more marvel in the form of weather events as the antagonist Cause 4 is a shade more than just another Just Cause game. The major gameplay loop of orchestrating chaos remains true to the franchise while unlocking the goodies to carry out your opus. The real shine of the game comes from just whipping about the game title world transitioning between grappling, wing suiting, parachuting, carjacking, plane-jacking, and inviting the player to turn the whole island in their playground on steroids. I had a lot of fun and I'm positive you will too with Just Cause 4. I recommend giving it a shot. Just Cause 4 is a very funny game but with a story that is shallow and incredibly repetitive. A game with lights and shadows that does not manage to be outstanding despite trying. A better than average game you will enjoy.

Assassin's Creed Origins

From bountiful oases to unforgiving deserts, from the tombs of Giza to the Mediterranean Sea, Assassin's Creed Origins' gameplay has you fight your way through ancient and dangerous factions and wild un-scrupulous beasts as you tread cautiously through the unpredictable and gigantic land of Ancient Egypt. Powered by a new fight philosophy, Assassin's Creed Origins embraces a brand new RPG direction where players level up, loot, and choose abilities to shape and customize their very own skilled Assassin as they grow in power and expertise while exploring the entire country of Ancient Egypt.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an open-world fighting game where you relive the best moments from the Dragon Ball Z anime series. Kakarot is a combination of an RPG and an arena fighter.  Unlike most of the games in the franchise, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot follows a role playing game format rather than a fighting game one. Combat is the main order of the day, as it usually is in games based on Dragon Ball Z. Although it's named Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and it follows the main protagonist Goku and the Z-Fighters, you are able to play as a litany of the main characters featured throughout the series including Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks and Vegeta as they go on their quest to hunt the Dragon Balls, save Earth by way of lots of punching.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is an open world stealth game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami on 1 September 2015. This is an awesome game designed by Hideo Kojima following Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Unlike most previous games in the series, The Phantom Pain doesn't tell a constant story that relies heavily on cutscenes or lengthy codec conversations and is instead broken up into a series of main story missions and side ops. For the first time in the Metal Gear Solid series, The Phantom Pain gives players an open-world environment in which to carry out missions. Both base building and on-ground gameplay- be it stealth or something more aggressive, work well and influence each other just enough to make Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain seem like a cohesive package.

Days Gone

Days Gone is a 2019 action-adventure survival horror video game that is available only on PS4. The video showed off the hordes of zombies and fast gameplay alongside bike and survival mechanics. A lot has been said about the freakers in previews and interviews, but I think they've missed how mechanically interesting the tech driving the freakers is. The hordes go where they go, and sometimes it gets hairy for Deacon. In some ways, Days Gone feels like the PS4's version of State of Decay Both games ask you to roam an apocalyptic world completing various tasks, eliminating what zombies you can, and scrounging for supplies that will help you live another day and maybe even improve your situation slightly.

GreedFall

GreedFall is an action-RPG that is trying to do too much and ended up with a good enough result, but it is a lot of place to grow and I hope in the future they will do better. The biggest drawback, probably due to the budget, is the game world itself, which looks empty and too uniform. Often we just run from one point to another as if on rails, fighting in the fun and varied combat system against too light standard opponents to reach the real highlight of the videogame - the different factions with their stories. GreedFall stands as Spiders' most successful videogame to day. Anyone looking deep action-RPG, for a standout will discover it in GreedFall. With its storyline paths and various ways to construct your character, there are many reasons to play through multiple times. Greedfall is set entirely on the island of Tír Fradí and as an ambassador of one of the videogame's factions, it's your job to liaise between the Old World and the natives' colonizing factions. The RPG systems at play here are so robust and deep that RPG fans simply shouldn't miss out on the game, even if the combat feels a bit clunky at times, the voyage to Teer Fradee was well worth it in the end for me.

Nioh 2

Nioh 2, like its 2017 predecessor, it's an action-RPG which adheres to the blueprint set by the Dark Souls games and, like them, it is pretty challenging to play. Nioh 2 is a terrific successor and improve a lot concerning combat by offering overwhelming half-yokai abilities. But it doesn't make Nioh 2 easier because the enemies also become more challenging. There is not any doubt that Nioh 2 is the most rewarding soul-like action videogame in 2020. Nioh 2 shows Team Ninja at the top of the videogame. From it's recently added mechanics to the character creator and skill trees, the quantity of depth on offer is extraordinary. The sequel makes it one of the entries in the genre and improves on the original in every manner. It entertaining combat will have you going back time and time again, while it could be difficult at times. If you like games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, then you'll love Nioh 2, but if you are like me and prefer a more relaxing videogame instead of wanting to drill a hole in my skull every time I died then Nioh 2 is definitely not your jam.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes Croft's history of badassery and turns it way up.  The gameplay in "Shadow" feels like a natural evolution from Rise of the Tomb Raider. Early on, Shadow of the Tomb Raider brings back all of Lara's usual tools and then builds from there. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has all the polish and visuals you would expect from the entry in a franchise that is enormous, but it's also held back by uninspired writing and an emphasis on archaic video game title conventions like boring gunplay. Exciting until the Tomb Raider's final credits, Shadow is a thrill ride. It's the definitive final chapter for story threads we've been following since 2013's game title, but also leaves the door open . We have our fingers crossed that this is not the final hurrah of Lara. It's an impressive game title, there's no lull in the story. It is filled with emotions. The creators they've taken the protagonist's growth . It's awesome it tumbles to live in her heart or how she has created her own route, after , you can tell it can be destroyed how she's placed. World's destiny is in the hands of Lara Croft, and She seems so sensitive individual and yet dedicated and strong. All these things make the lights of this tomb raider and the shadows.
