Trails to Azure: A Brief Overview

Trails to Azure is a turn-based JRPG that continues the story of Lloyd Bannings, a member of the SSS investigation team in the Crossbell region. The game's storyline is a mix of political fiction and action, featuring secret organizations, terrorist groups, and a fantasy system that becomes more prominent towards the end of the game.

The Plot of Trails to Azure

Trails to Azure begins with an invasion from neighboring regions and a battle against the followers of the cult of Zephyr. Fans of the "Erebonia" arc will appreciate the connections between Trails to Azure and the following chapters of the Trails of Cold Steel saga. Trails to Azure is one of the best PS4 games, and players will appreciate the game's diverse cast of heroes, including members of the government organization of which the protagonist is a part.

"The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure" surprised me with its amount of text and great voice acting. The game feels like a larger production due to these features. Additionally, there are three in-engine sections that are surprising to see in this game engine. After completing the game, I watched YouTube clips to see how these sections played out on the PSP.

The Relationship System and Combat System of Trails to Azure

Trails to Azure has a relationship system that rewards the player for developing affinities with their companions through dialogue choices, optional events, and side-quests. The combat system is turn-based and takes place on a grid, where the positioning of characters is crucial for successful attacks and abilities. The game introduces the Burst Gauge, a bonus-giving indicator that fills up with each successful hit. It also features Master Quarts, stones that define abilities and influence statistics in battle.

Conclusion

In my opinion, this is simply "A Must-Play for Fans of JRPGs," so do not hesitate to buy The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure. In fact, anyone who wants to buy cheap PS4 games should add this new Legend of Heroes game to their wishlist. I had a great experience with this video game (and the series). Once I beat the game, I felt compelled to go back and see how these sections played out on the PSP back in the day. I found myself scouring YouTube for clips and was surprised at how much the game had evolved over the years. If you've played Trails from Zero, you'll enjoy Legend of Heroes.
