Two new sport games: NHL 21 and FIFA 21
NHL 21
While NHL 21 brings with it some exciting minor features, the console game has not made any significant quality of life improvements with these new changes. Electronic Arts wants players to concentrate on the tremendous new motions in NHL 21, but pulling off something like "The Michigan" was an effort of trial and error spanning multiple days only to do it successfully. After playing with the Franchise mode and easy pick-up games, this problem becomes even more evident in all difficulty levels, beyond just "Be a Pro" where it's most exacerbated. I'd like to hope that with NHL 21 being the last hockey console game of this console generation, possibly NHL 22 will eventually get that graphical update it so desperately deserves, since the gameplay is currently best line, and the game's appearance should grow up in the fourth line to match it. I guess we will find out next year.
The developers have given players more moves on the ice in the kind of special dekes and more puck control. With innovative moves and massive improvements on both sides of the puck, players have more options than ever before to take charge of the console game and impose their playstyle on opponents. In NHL 21, there's absolutely no soul, and the franchise should stop putting out attributes and create a new NHL game where altering the on-ice merchandise is what sells the product. NHL 21 has successfully sold itself as a console game with some wonderful moves inside, but barring some hardcore gamers, nobody will bother to do them due to the effort required. In keeping with the Be A Pro mode, playing each console game feels like a wreck where players continuously bump into each other, and they never create any speed to create a play. Bottom line, NHL 21 is a game for fans of the ice sport, despite the lack of innovation, it remains the best hockey game today.

FIFA 21
FIFA 21 is one of EA's biggest money-makers and therefore, nobody expected it to go the way of PES 2021, which provided a cut-price DLC-like 2021 update, which mainly delivered updated squads and kits, with a complete sequel coming next year, targeting next-gen consoles. The colors are somewhat different, some details change here and there and there is quite a bit of innovation in the videogame modes themselves, but that innovation does not change the way you play the game enough. In "Ultimate Team" you mainly collect your coins and parcels at the same, well-known manners, in the Career Mode only the training changes and now you can simulate matches somewhat better, but the rest is identical. The same trend is observable in the gameplay. The game is faster and the accent is even more on the attack, but the patterns in the gameplay remain almost the same, while the several changes do not necessarily make for a better videogame.
New ideas that actually result in a good, like-new game are becoming scarcer every year. This makes the need to change to the new FIFA every year less and less. Perhaps the introduction of the new generation of consoles next year can make a bigger difference, because after FIFA 21 the demand for such a true step is greater than ever. Nevertheless, one thing EA have kept on top of so far is the updating of groups by ensuring the latest transfers are reflected in-game. Given the sheer amount of leagues in FIFA 21, together with the favorite English leagues, La Liga and Serie A featuring alongside the J-League, MLS and the K-League, it's great to see up-to-date teams for lovers around the world. The only criticism is that there still aren't any women's club teams included, which makes the annual offering of International teams to use in pointless Kick-Off matches, for example, a mere token gesture. In the end, FIFA 21 is the same game that lovers of the franchise want. Not really innovative, the regular yearly update.

We are all waiting for the next-generation consoles and we imagine how these sport games could look on the new specs. We hope some of the things will be improved and bugging issues will be fixed. We also hope that developers will listen more to what fans have to say and will bring new creative ideas to the table. Until the new consoles will be available (we are very close), you can buy at least FIFA 21 knowing that you will have a free PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade - so you have nothing to lose. If you are interested in purchasing cheap PS5 games, you should chose carefully your game provider. I have included the relevant links to the products, so you can benefit of the best prices on the market for these two games.
